Privacy notice
Last updated 14 August 2026
Vlyt is a mobile app for small South African businesses. This notice explains how we handle information, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
What we collect
When you create an account we store the details you give us — typically a phone number or Google sign-in, a display name, and your business name. Inside the app you may add contacts, products, quotes, stock, expenses, and related files such as product images or receipts.
Why we collect it
We use this information only to run the app for you: to sign you in, to keep your catalog and quotes, and to send a one-time SMS code if you verify by phone. We do not sell your business data, and we do not use it to advertise other products to your customers.
Where it lives
Data is stored with our hosting provider (Supabase). Access is limited to your signed-in account. Other users cannot read your catalog, contacts, quotes, or expenses.
Your rights
You may ask us what we hold, correct it, or delete your account and the business data attached to it. Use the in-app account controls where available, or contact us through the GitHub repository linked in the footer.
SMS
If you sign in with a phone number, we send a one-time verification code. Message and data rates may apply. We do not send marketing SMS.
This notice will be updated if our practices change. The date above is the current version.
